ExcerptOn the coverGabriel Suarez, a native of Mexico, had the opportunity to live in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2003. While there, he bought a digital camera and soon began capturing everyday life through the lens. Upon his return to the United States, he attended Hallmark Institute of Photography in Turner Falls, Mass., and took up photography full-time. Suarez’s work has appeared locally in The Houston Chronicle and Houston Press. He now lives and works in West Hollywood, Calif. |

To commemorate the 29th anniversary of the loss of The King (August 16, 1977), a place was reserved at center Table to munch through the puzzling world of Elvis Presley’s eating habits. It’s the least we could do to honor the man that Leonard Bernstein called “the greatest cultural force in the twentieth-century.” After all, as Johnny Carson put it, “If life was fair, Elvis would be alive and all the impersonators would be dead.”
