Our graphic designer Jen Cooper assembled this collage, using a photo by Deron Neblett—the longtime My Table contributor recently relocated to the Boston area—and an illustration by Brady Smith. The type for “Houston” was clipped from various publications, and the happy fellow in the upper-righthand corner was found art, courtesy of Terry Armour.

36 REHASHED: BREAD OF ANGELS

Bread pudding submits readily to any number of variations. Dried fruits, spices, liquor, nuts and chocolate are often included in the recipe, and all kinds of breads, from challah to biscotti, can be substituted for the regular white loaf. Here are three bread pudding recipes from local restaurant chefs.

40 FULL PLATES

This Hungarian artist visited Houston during Fotofest earlier this year and went home with a plethora of tiny images found on food packages in downtown’s Little Saigon. Carefully clipped, cleaned and preserved, these miniature pictograms serve as the raw material for her current photographic art.
