D.K.'s Sushi Chronicles from Hawai'i

D.K.’s Sushi Chronicles from Hawai’i by Dave “D.K.” Kodama with Bonnie Friedman ($35.00, Ten Speed Press) is inspired by the author’s Hawaiian-Japanese restaurants in Hawaii. The books emphasizes contemporary sushi making, offering a friendly guide to sushi, 21st-century style. And even though these are restaurant recipes, none is overly complicated or saddled with 25 ingredients. Fun to dip into and cook from; it could have used more photos.
